BRENDAN MCCOY

In less than 10 years, Brendan McCoy advanced his career with NHG from Banquet Houseman to Vice President of Operations. His team-first mentality and approach, as well as values rooted in honesty and transparency play a significant role in his performance, the success of his hotels and both owner and employee satisfaction.

Brendan started his career with NHG in 2011 as a Banquet Houseman and worked his way up through the Housekeeping and Food and Beverage departments before being promoted to his first General Manager role at TownePlace Suites by Marriott Columbia Southeast/Fort Jackson in Columbia, SC. He was later promoted to Courtyard by Marriott Harrisonburg in Harrisonburg, VA and again to Hilton Garden Inn Columbia/Harbison in Columbia, SC. Directly before his promotion to VP of Operations, Brendan was a Regional Director while continuing GM responsibilities at the Hilton Garden Inn.

Throughout his career, Brendan has won both individual and team-based awards. He won the Shining Apple Award in 2014 and 2015, was named one of the Top 30 Under 30 by Hotel Management Magazine and won General Manager of the Year for NHG in 2015.  Additionally, Hilton Garden Inn Columbia/Harbison was in the top 10% of the brand for Overall Experience and Overall Service each year of Brendan’s tenure.

Brendan graduated from the University of South Carolina with a B.S. in hospitality management. He is also a Certified Hospitality Supervisor through the AH&LEF program.

In his free time, Brendan enjoys spending time with his wife and three children, keeping up with University of South Carolina sports, being outdoors and playing disc golf.
